Importer Security Filing – ISF (10+2)

On January 26, 2009, the new rule titled Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements (commonly known as ``10+2``) went into effect. This rule applies to import cargo arriving to the United States by vessel. Failure to comply with the rule could ultimately result in monetary penalties, increased inspections and delay of cargo.

Entry / Entry Summary Services

``Entry Summary`` refers to the documentation necessary to enable U.S. Customs and Border Protection to assess duties, collect statistics, and determine whether other requirements of law have been met.


Importer Bonds (Single Entry or Continuous) Customs Bonds

A continuous bond is 10% of duties, taxes and fees paid for the 12 month period. The minimum amount is $50,000.00. A single entry bond is generally in an amount not less than the total entered value, plus any duties, taxes and fees. The minimum amount for a single transaction bond is $100.00.
